Reminders

  • This is just a reminder to ask your students if they need more paper, pencils, and pens. It is the beginning of a new semester and they may need to replenish their supply.
  • Please continue to drill multiplication facts with your children. It is imperative that these math facts become second nature for the students in order to be successful in math.
  • Meetings with Teachers

    • If you would like to meet with your child's teacher to discuss their progress, it is necessary to make an appointment.

Teachers begin their school day at 7:30 am when students are picked up in the cafeteria. The day ends at approximately 2:45 pm when all students have been released to either busses or parents. During this time frame, our teachers are working very hard to provide excellent instruction and supervision to all children; it is very difficult for teachers to meet with parents during the school day.

We realize there are parents who can only meet during the school day, in these special situations and with adequate notice; we will work to arrange an appointment.

  • Breakfast Available

    • Parents wanting a younger student to purchase and eat breakfast at school should send money daily or you can send a check for the week. Be sure to write on the check the number of breakfasts you are purchasing. Sometimes, when young students see others eating breakfast, they also want breakfast.

If students don't have money and eat breakfast the parent will receive a bill from Mrs. Collins. The school prefers that breakfast not be charged and lunch charges should exceed $20.00.

  • Weekend Altar Servers

    • Students who have been serving at the daily masses and want to be altar servers on the weekends should contact the school or church office. Your daily experience in serving is the training you need to fulfill this ministry.
  • Anti-Bullying Program

    • Young American Showcase will be presenting an Anti-Bullying Program for our St. Ann students and their parents the evening of September 18th from 6 pm to 7 pm. Admission for students is $10/parents may attend FREE of charge. Tickets can be purchased at the school office or at the parish hall beginning at 5:45 PM. This is a fantastic program!

  • Dress Code Violations

  • I like to see children engaged in physical activity whenever possible. In light of this, dress code violation consequences have been altered slightly.
    • For future reference the consequences will be as follows:
      • 1st offense: warning
      • 2nd offense: Lunch recess detention walking for 5 minutes
      • 3rd offense: Lunch recess detention walking for 10 minutes
      • 4th offense: Parent call and after school detention

When your child has recess detention, he/she will walk the perimeter of the playground for the specified amount of time. Please discuss these consequences with your child. Thank you for everything you do to ensure your child follows the guidelines.

  • No Digital Cameras

    • Digital or other types of cameras are not to be brought to school by students. Cameras will be taken from the student and then the camera must be picked up by the parent from the school office.
  • No Cell Phones

  • Students are not allowed to carry cell phones at school.

    • If a student is caught with a cell phone, the student will have one day of after school detention and a parent must pick up the phone. This rule has been in effect for several years.

Students have no reason to have a phone at school.

Staff members who have cell phones do not have them on during the school day.

SAIS does have a rule that students are not allowed to call home during the day to have something brought from home or to get permission to go to after school activities.

  • Tardy Notice

  • Please take note: If you are checking your child out early for doctor/dentist visit or bringing them to school late for the same, they will be counted tardy unexcused without a doctor's excuse. You have one week to present one.

The doctor's office can also fax one to 270.389.1834.

  • Early AM Arrivals

  • SAIS does not open until 7:10 at which time the doors are unlocked and a teacher supervises the front door and the unloading of the buses and cars. SAIS is not responsible for students before that time.

Some staff come in early to get items copied or supplies ready for the day, but no one is supervising students. Do not drop your child off until 7:10 or after.

If you go to work early, make arrangements with someone else to drop your child off or have the student come on the school bus.

Make sure your child can get into the building before driving away.

  • Important Dismissal information

    • In order to ensure that all children are delivered to their destination safely we will be making a few changes in the dismissal procedures. Effective Tuesday, September 4th, the office will no longer accept any changes to transportation arrangements of St. Ann students after 1:30 P.M. We will also accept no change in transportation arrangements over the telephone. ALL changes must come in the form of written documentation. This documentation can be sent with your child in the morning or faxed to St. Ann's at 389-1834. Only in an emergency will we make any last minute changes to the dismissal procedures for your child. We will work with you to make this transition as smooth as possible.
  • Middle School Afternoon Dismissal

    • We are working on a plan to expedite the afternoon dismissal of car riders. We now allow our Middle School students to walk to the church parking lot with the teacher on duty. The students can walk to their parent's car from this point. If you only have middle school students, you are allowed to leave the church parking lot once you have picked up your child(ren). If you have younger children, you will have to remain in the pick-up line and pick them up just as you have in the past. We are presently working on other dismissal plans and will update you when we have more information.
  • Keeping Our Children Safe

    • Safe Environment

      • Another reminder, any parent or grandparent who wishes to go on a class field trip must have attended a Safe Environment class and submitted information for a record check.
      • Parents going on the 8th grade trip must complete Safe Environment by the end of December.
    • Lunch Time Visitor Check-In

      • All parents and others who are visiting with students to eat lunch must report to the school office to receive a visitor's badge. The cafeteria doors are now locked and the cafeteria staff will be called to open the door for you. When you leave you must check out and return the visitor's badge.
    • Playground Supervision

      • All students must be supervised on the playground and this happens during the school day. When parents are here for a school or church activity, students are not to be on the playground alone. One parent must be on the playground when there are children playing there. Young siblings not in school are not to go to the playground with SAIS students during the school day.

      • Families are welcome to use the play area as long as an adult is present. No one should be picking up and throwing the mulch. It is expensive to replace and also a danger to other students.
  • Visiting Other People and Places

    • Field Trip Permission Form

      • If you need a field trip permission, you can download one here. This file will open as a Word Document.
      • If you do not have Word, you can get a printer friendly version here. This will open in a new window.
