Reminder to All Parents

Books

Please note that the following books do not resonate the Catholic culture of St. Ann School: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. We have requested that these books not be brought to St. Ann School. We will not be giving AR tests for these books.

Dress Code Reminders

Thanks to each of you for abiding the dress code policy. You are doing a wonderful job following the policy. Parents, thank you for helping your child choose the correct clothing for school. Headbands may be red, white, navy blue, khaki, black, or brown.

Thank you for helping us enforce the make-up policy for girls and hair length policy for the boys.

For the girls:

The only make-up allowed for girls is natural or light pink lip-gloss; foundation, blush, eye make-up in not allowed. Thank you for following the policy.

For the boys:

Boy's hair may be no longer than collar length in the back, mid-ear on the sides and short enough to show some of the forehead. Boys must be clean shaven; mustaches and beards are not permitted. Sideburns should be no longer than the bottom of the ear. Thank you for following the policy.

Both of these issues have been addressed with the students this year on several occasions. I appreciate your assistance in monitoring both situations.

We have also discovered many pants that do not meet the uniform code. Pants should be dark khaki in color, no flaps on the back pockets, no double stitching on the seams, and belt loops should be straight, not criss crossed. Please monitor the clothing your child wears to school.

Headbands may be red, white, navy blue, khaki, black, or brown.

  • Knit Polo Style Shirts (Jersey, smooth, or Pique, waffle-look) - These shirts are to have short or long sleeves and must be white, navy blue or bright red with NO logos, monograms, trademark emblems or frill/lace collars. Undergarments or t-shirts worn under the shirts MUST BE solid white with no design and undergarment and t-shirt sleeves must not be visible at the end of the uniform sleeves. The shirts must fit properly and be properly tucked into the pants at all times; form-fitting shirts are not permitted. Turtlenecks are no longer permitted. The older polos sold by the St. Ann School Booster Club with the Cherokee embroidered emblems are NO LONGER part of the uniform policy.
  • Peter Pan or Round Collar Blouse - Blouses must be white and must have short or long sleeves. Three quarter or puff sleeves and frill or lace collars are not permitted. Blouses not purchased from the uniform suppliers must be of the same style and color as those offered by the uniform suppliers.
  • Socks - Socks must always be worn. Quarter, crew or knee socks in solid white or khaki will be permitted and must completely cover the anklebone at all times. No emblems, logos or trademarks are permitted on socks. Artex provides socks that are appropriate for St. Ann dress code policy.
  • Jumpers of any form are no longer a part of the St. Ann dress code. This decision was made during a council meeting last year.

Policy Reminder

In order to ensure that all children are delivered to their destination safely the office will no longer accept any changes to transportation arrangements of St. Ann students after 1:30 P.M. We will also accept no change in transportation arrangements over the telephone. ALL changes must come in the form of written documentation. This documentation can be sent with your child in the morning or faxed to St. Ann's at 389-1834. Only in an emergency will we make any last minute changes to the dismissal procedures for your child.

REMINDER

Parents, please remember that if your child is staying after school, they must be under adult supervision. Children cannot be left unattended to roam the school building. This is for the safety of all students.

If your children are staying for KYA, Y-Club, Choir, or 4-H you do not have to send a note each time.

Sending Money To School

Just a reminder, when you send money to school, please put it in an envelope, marked with the reason for the money. Many times children bring cash into the office and lay it on desk. We have no idea where the money is supposed to go. If you are sending money to pay lunch, tuition, service projects, etc, please send separate checks to ensure the money goes where it is meant to go. Thanks for your help.

Parent Notes

Please help us…when you send a note to the office pertaining your children's travel arrangements, it is very important that you date the note, put a real name and address of where they are to be going or who will be picking them up. We often receive notes stating, "Adam is riding to granny's house today." We have no idea who granny is. The more information you give us, the better we can care for your children.
