4-H Meeting
There will be a 4-H meeting on Tuesday, September 7 from 2:30-3:30 in the school cafeteria. Students must be 9 years old in order to attend. Student pick-up will be at the Parish Hall doors after each meeting.

Attention Parents of Athletes
All physicals and paperwork needs to be completed and turned into the school office by Friday, September 3 or your child cannot attend practice. All paperwork is found on the St. Ann website under the “forms” link.

School Information for Parents and Students
This year our school office and teaching staff will be communicating information through our webpage, Fast Direct emails, teachers’ bulletin boards and using our School Announcement phone system. The school office and teaching staff will only send home notes of the upmost importance. The school’s webpage, morning announcements and calendar are updated daily with new information. Teachers may update their information daily or weekly. All information posted on the webpage, under the webpage links and on teachers’ bulletin boards can be easily printed from home, your business or the public library.

Early Release Days
The Union County Public School will be having five Early Release Days this school year. The dates are August 27, October 1, January 28, February 25 and March 25. St. Ann School will be having school all day on these dates. The reasoning behind this decision is our school is required to have the total amount of hours which would equal 177 instructional days for students. The public school’s calendar, as well as our calendar is set for 175 days. The school system “banks” time which is what we are doing when we are going the full time on the early release days and also instructing every minute of the school day. By doing this, we won’t have to add two more days onto the school calendar. We will be dismissing students, as car riders, at 2:25 on these dates. Parents need to make sure all children have someone picking them up. As a reminder to parents, a school announcement call will be sent out before each date.

Parent Paperwork Due
All school paperwork that was given out during our School Wide Picnic needs to be turned into the office by Tuesday, August 17. This also includes printing off and signing the last page of the student/parent handbook found on this webpage under the “Handbook” link. If you haven’t picked up your family packet from the school office, please do so ASAP. Any family who has not returned their paperwork by Tuesday, August 17 will have Fast Direct access blocked. This paperwork is very vital to our school records.

No Midterm Reports This School Year
Our school will not be posting or sending home midterm reports for students. All grade information for parents is found through Fast Direct access. The school will be letting parents know when the midterm for each quarter is so you can go onto Fast Direct and check your child’s grade status. You will only be unable to do this if, for some reason, you are blocked out. If this happens you will need to call the office to see why you are blocked. The midterm date for the first semester will be Thursday, September 9.

Cafeteria Fees
This year families will only be able to charge up to $5.00. When your family has reached this limit, the school office will notify you by phone. Your access to Fast Direct will be blocked until the payment is paid and your child (ren) will not be able to purchase ala-carte items in the lunchroom. The reason this is being done this school year is because there was an outstanding balance of over $800 at the end of last school year. It took all summer to collect these fees. Excessive overcharging is unacceptable and creates a “burden” on the cafeteria. You are allowed to send money at any time to have deposited into your child’s account. If you are wondering how much your child has in their account, feel free to call the school and we will transfer you to the cafeteria. We need everyone’s cooperation this school year.
